Cara Romero

Cara Romero is an American born, Indigenous photographer from the Chemehuevi Indian Tribe. Her unique artistic presence stems from her connections to the tribe in the Mojave dessert and years of experience in academics for both fine art and editorial photography. Romero’s technical education spans from cultural anthropology from the University of Houston, photography from the Institute of American Indian Arts and commercial photography at Oklahoma State University. Romero’s unique upbringing and technical skillset make her a unique artist of this time. She is dedicated to accurately and creatively depicting meaningful themes of Indigenous women and communities.
